How to Build a Capsule Makeup Kit
July 22, 2026

The problem with most makeup advice is it assumes you want more: more products, more steps, more to carry. A capsule kit does the opposite. These six items cover almost every occasion.

A tinted SPF moisturizer

Foundation, skincare, and sun protection in one step. Look for a finish that is not too matte and not too dewy, so it works in different seasons.

A cream concealer

One shade lighter than your skin tone. Use it under the eye, on any spot, and along the bridge of your nose if you want a subtle highlight.

A brow pencil or gel

Fill in sparse spots with light feathery strokes or swipe a clear gel to set the shape you already have. Either takes under a minute.

A cream blush

Blends faster than powder, works on bare skin or over foundation, and doubles as a soft eyeshadow. A dusty rose or terracotta shade works on most skin tones.

Mascara

One coat on the upper lash, done. If you only own one mascara, pick a black that does not flake after three hours.

A lip liner or tinted lip balm

Blurred liner for definition, or a tinted balm when you want colour with zero effort. These two cover the full range from low-key to polished.

That is it. Everything else is extra. Our boxes introduce one or two well-chosen additions each month, always things that slot into a kit like this rather than complicating it.
